Engage your community through information
If you are asking the question, “how can our school connect with parents and community members quickly, effectively, and using the technology in their pockets?”, then take a moment to look at the way this question has been answered by the team at Foshan Concordia International School (FCIS). They partnered with an app developer based in Australia to develop their school app for mobile devices. It enables them to send out notifications and news to their community members. It can also work in the other direction – parents can notify the school of student absences and other important information. The software for managing the information is web-based, so school administrators and teachers can access it from a variety of technical platforms.
Patrick Moore, head of school for FCIS, says “I can either go onto my laptop or I can use my iPhone or iPad to push notifications or to make changes. It works exclusively with the app and is very user friendly.” The app also works with Android devices. He welcomes you to contact him if you need information for getting started on this type of solution.
The developer, APP City, has worked with other Lutheran schools in Australia on similar communication solutions. Click here to go to the developer’s website.
