HKIS Service Summit and Leadership Retreat
On Saturday, January 14, Hong Kong International School (HKIS) hosted the 10th annual Service Summit in conjunction with the middle school leadership retreat. Thirty students from Concordia International School Shanghai, Concordia International School Hanoi and HKIS took part in the three day middle school leadership retreat. Seventy-five Humanities I in Action high school students joined the Service Summit on Saturday.
The goal of the Service Summit is to launch Humanities I in Action students’ semester-long, community-based service projects. The students heard a keynote presentation from Me to We speakers and selected five break-out sessions to attend. Most of the break-out sessions were conducted by upperclass students who completed successful service projects in the Humanities I in Action course.
An article about the Service Summit was written for the South China Morning Post which can be accessed here.
