Scheiwe Joins ALEA as Associate Director
The Asia Lutheran Education Association (ALEA) has named Iantha Scheiwe as Associate Director. In this role, Mrs. Scheiwe will facilitate the research and development of tools and curriculums to equip the Lutheran school network in Asia for training its educators.
Mrs. Scheiwe graduated with an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from Valparaiso University and received her MBA from the Bradford School of Management Mrs. Scheiwe was appointed to serve as the manager of Concordia Welfare and Education Foundation’s (CWEF) office in the southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan.
In 2009, she moved with her family to Hong Kong and was appointed to the Executive Director position in 2010. In this role she worked with staff in seven offices in China, Cambodia, and Indonesia, connecting with disadvantaged communities to inspire hope and equip them to thrive.
Mrs. Scheiwe lives in Hong Kong with her three children and husband, Joel, LCMS pastor of Church of All Nations in Hong Kong.
Founded in 2002, Asia Lutheran Education Association is a collegial organization of educators, PS-12 schools and post-secondary institutions focused on the highest quality education while establishing Christian communities throughout Asia. ALEA partner schools and institutions are located across Asia including in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Papua New Guinea, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Taiwan. The goals of ALEA include cooperative teacher and administrator recruitment strategies, expanding teacher and leadership training opportunities and developing vibrant communities for out reach and service.
