X-plorations Class
What does learning look like outside the classroom? During X-plorations class, fourteen of our high schoolers headed to Urban Bees Shanghai, a non-profit urban beekeeping organization, to try their hand at life as a beekeeper, led by HS teacher John Thompson, who volunteers there as a beekeeper himself.But the learning didn't stop at the apiary. Back at school, students channeled what they saw and felt into blog posts, presentations, and real conversations about why bees are essential to our planet’s biodiversity, and how we can all do our part to protect the ecosystem. This is what it means to learn beyond the classroom walls.
